  • Outlining the range of programmes that SDD have helped to build safeguarding capacity around, working effectively with grassroots CSOs, including how these capacity building methods are designed, measured and evaluated
  • Understanding how SDD’s role as the Gender Equity and Social Inclusion lead on DfID’s Girls’ Education Challenge has led to the development of a globally-recognised best practice child safeguarding system
  • Highlighting the main features of the safeguarding approach which can be mainstreamed across all teams within a fund manager, including increasing accountability for partners and fund recipients
  • Sharing lessons from conducting child safeguarding assessments of almost 200 organisations, and using self-audits to assess compliance across organisations
  • Utilising Ofsted’s approach for assessing schools in the UK to create a new practical monitoring tool to evaluate the implementation of the GEC’s child safeguarding system, and how this can be adapted for other projects
