  • Creating the Safeguarding Leads Network, established by private DfID suppliers to share best practice and progress towards meeting the UK Private Sector Commitments to DFID Safeguarding Strategic Shifts, including around information sharing
  • Understanding how the Network has expanded beyond safeguarding experts to include working groups for senior business leaders to better understand these issues and their role in ensuring organisational change and compliance through robust reporting mechanisms
  • Highlighting the importance of effectively training staff in the initial response and reporting process, so that IMC staff can discuss issues that arise in the field with DfID in advance, to better support survivors
  • Sharing improvements made within IMC’s approach to safeguarding including through appointing a four-person safeguarding team that have established a safeguarding framework for the organisations and strengthened recruitment, referencing, interview, due diligence, reporting and communications processes
